This book comes 500 years after the Breton prelate Thom- as Le Roy founded his palazzetto at Campo de Fiori, which was later called Farnesina ai Baullari and today houses the Barracco Museum. Although present in every architectural history manual, the building has been studied mostly concerning its mysterious architect and the late nineteenth-century transformations that destroyed its original insula, provided it with a new facade and exposed it along the new Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Through a combination of survey and digital drawing, this book investigates its elegant architecture in relation to the ideas of the centuries it has gone through, reconstructs its lost characters through an eclectic iconographic equipment and interprets its reception through archive images and the gaze of artists, eventually extending its considerations on the peculiar criteria of representation of architecture in the cosmopolitan Roman context.
