La costruzione del discorso filosofico nell'età dei Presocratici

It is well known that the category of pre- Socratic philosophy has been 'invented' by Plato and Aristotele, and it is also known how much their historiographic elaboration, combined with very fixed philosophical interests, has affected the interpretation of the pre-Socratics throughout western tradition.
The essays collected in this volume propose to discuss this ancient tradition, showing the multiplicity and richness of motifs to be found in pre-Socratic philosophical research, far beyond the schemata consolidated in Platonic and Aristotelian historiographic paradigms.
By assembling essays from both Italian and to a large extent non-Italian scholars, the volume offers on original contribution to a theme that has been decisive for the European xxth century, besides on the historiographic also on the philosophic level.
