This publication is part of the celebrative initiatives for the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death. With an interdisciplinary approach consistent with the genius of Leonardo, it intends to promote the knowledge of his visit at the beginning of the 16th century to Emperor Hadrian's Villa, which was called at the time called "Old Tivoli", given that its size and majesty made it considered as the original seat of the ancient Tiburtine city. While the book outlines some aspects of Leonardo's visit, historically documented by notes and sketches, it inevitably deepens the influence that this trip had on the formation and creative genesis of Leonardo, naturally inclined to a constant dialogue with the ancient and the classics.
