Philosophical Papyri. A Journal of Ancient Philosophy and the Papyrological Tradition. 2/2024

In the past there has been little communication between Herculaneum papyrology and GrecoEgyptian papyrology. The studies concerning Herculaneum philosophical papyri, and those regarding Greco-Egyptian ones have been artificially separated as though they were two essentially different kinds of papyri. The goal of «Philosophical Papyri» - the first scientific journal specifically devoted to philosophical papyri as such - is to fill in this gap of scholarship and to reconcile both traditions in one and the same venue. The journal hosts critical editions of, as well as essays and discussions on, both Herculaneum and GrecoEgyptian philosophical papyri with a special focus on the various papyrological, palaeographical, philological, historical, and philosophical problems entailed by them. New ecdotic criteria are adopted and the most recent advancements in the application of advanced techniques to papyri will be exploited.
