Physica Medica is an international journal devoted to the applications of physics to medicine and biology. It is an official journal of the: Associazione Italiana di Fisica in Medicina (AIFM), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Medizininische Physik (DGMP), Latvian Medical Engineering and Physics Society (LMEPS), Nederlandse Vereniging voor Klinische Fysica (NVKF), Société Française de Physique Médicale (SFPM), South African Medical Physics Society (SAMPS), European Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics (EFOMP). The journal provides an international forum for research and review of the following main topics: Physics of the biological systems, Study and measurement of physiological parameters, Dosimetry and clinical dosimetry, Medical imaging, Biomedical instrumentation and quality assurance, Optics and Laser applications in biology and medicine, Physics methodologies in environmental science. Contributions are exclusively in English. All the manuscripts are subjected to a stringent peers' review. The journal is indexed/abstracted in the major international data bases.
