It is destined first and foremost to students and teachers, with the aim of providing the world of education with instructive, well-founded and up-to-date information on astronomic studies and stimulating debate on teaching methodology in the field of astronomy. It is also addressed to all non-specialists and educated laypersons who take an eager interest in this science and wish to delve into the subject in greater depth in order to improve and expand their understanding of the most recent discoveries and technological advances.
Since 1998 the Journal of Astronomy has also been published in Arabic, with the title: Al-Magella Al-Falakyya thanks to contributions from the Prime Minister's Office, the European Secretariat for Scientific Publications (ESSP) and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
