The journal is intended to disseminate, in an effective and direct manner, the findings of the researches in the Mediterranean and 'for' the Mediterranean in the sphere related to underwater archaeology (excavation techniques, research methods, protection of sites, legislation, etc.). The journal hosts not only final reports on field investigation or research, but also preliminary reports, abstracts of work in progress, updates on experiments or applications of new technologies. Updates are also included in a section on book recommendations, with comments on reviewed works and articles. As well as the mentioned subjects, special attention will always be paid to the educational issue, with special reference to the training of professional archaeologists and underwater curators that should comply with common educational and quality standards recognised in all Mediterranean countries.
