Il sentiero dell'Oro. The gold trail

In this volume, where the images steal space from the words and an apparent heterogeneity reigns supreme and unperturbed, it is hidden, within the silence of these images, a theme that is not at all fortuitous. The architectures we meet: the "Wood", the "Machines", the "Stone Faces", the "Mine" are absolutely pure emotions, simple encounters. And they all have constantly and tenaciously retained the charm of the first time. "The Valley of the Angel", which starting from the old furnace and passing by the 7th century hermitage between Mount Morra and Mount Arcaro used to lead to San Polo dei Cavalieri, is where everything begins, a microcosm tied up with the Natural Park of the Lucretili Mountains, a millenarian pre-existence to the establishment of the C.I.D.I. lime factory that since the '60s, year after year, with its work of devastation has almost cancelled any recollection of the valley, which has survived only in the memory of a few.
