Campanotto

Languages: italian text

Weight: 1.4 kg

The book is designed for Italian students of English and English students of Italian at university level, with the intention of providing a general and applicable introduction to the theory of text analysis and to translation theory and criticism, as well as being a practical guide as regards approach, analysis and commentary writing. In particular, it deals with the methodology that is generally adopted at university for the detailed description and discussion af contemporary English literary texts as well as Italian literary texts compared and contrasted with their English translation/s.
The volume is divided into three main sections: text analysis, translation criticism and bibliographies.
Part I consists of a general explanation of and introduction to text analysis in general, its purpose, abjectives and methods. Moreover, as text analysis is essentially a descriptive process and as, therefore, accuracy of vocabulary and terminology is fundamental to the analyst's work, a glossary of current descriptive vocabulary is also given so that students will gain an active working knowledge of appropriate critical and linguistic terminology.
