Tony Salamé is the CEO of Aïshti, a fashion and luxury group operating various stores in Beirut. Salamé has been collecting contemporary art since the early 1990s and has established the Aïshti Foundation, a non-for-profit institution dedicated to contemporary culture, encompassing more than 2000 works by international artists. Realized on the occasion of the inauguration of the Foundation's new building, designed by the British architect David Adjaye, this volume accompanies the inaugural exhibition, titled "New Skin".
- It features works by, among others: Etel Adnan, Agostino Bonalumi, Carol Bove, Daniel Buren, Enrico Castellani, Urs Fischer, Camille Henrot, Glenn Ligon, Lucy McKenzie, Giuseppe Penone, Gianni Piacentino, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Gerhard Richter,Wolfgang Tillmans, Kari Upson, Andra Ursuta, Christopher Wool, Danh Vo, Charline Von Heyl, and Akram Zaatari.
British architect David Adjaye founded Adjaye Associates in 2000. His projects range in scale from private houses, exhibition displays and temporary pavilions (such as the one for the 2015 Venice Art Biennale) to major arts centres, civic buildings and masterplans in Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Jeffrey Deitch is an American expert in modern and contemporary art and an advisor to private and institutional art collectors. From 2010 to 2013 he has been the director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA).
