This is a double anniversary: the centenary of Merleau-Ponty's birth and the ten year anniversary of the founding of Chiasmi International. We are celebrating both of these with a genuinely special issue. The three editors of Chiasmi have contributed at this issue, as well as several of the most important and prestigious Merleau-Ponty specialists from three generations and from several parts of the world. Certain of these feel that they are called to think Merleau-Ponty's philosophy today, or to think with Merleau-Ponty today's philosophy, or yet to think with Merleau-Ponty's philosophy today. Other of our contributors have extended these investigative lines by following certain of the most remarkable directions of thought, which ramify or even uproot themselves from Merleau-Ponty's philosophy, or which intersect with Merleau-Ponty's thought in a significant way. All make a decisive contribution in order to accompany the figure of Merleau-Ponty beyond his first centenary and this journal beyond its first ten years.
