LOTO. Landscape Opportunities for Territorial Organization. Landscape Management of Territorial Transformations Good Practices and Existing Knowledge

Through the new Directorate General for Contemporary Art and Architecture, instituted in 2001, the promotion, support and valorisation of contemporary creativity now accompany the traditional activities of conservation, protection and restoration of the historical patrimony. This is one of the most important new roles of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage, integrating the protection of the cultural patrimony and the landscape with a new attention to contemporary art and architecture, now considered to be of equal importance to the testimonials offered by history. The DARC, which amongst other things is responsible for the promotion of the quality of design, architecture and urban planning, has taken advantage of this opportunity to adhere to the L.O.T.O.
