The journal has been, for more than a century, the authoritative seat of debates about the relationship between State and Church, canon and civil law, religious laws and, in the last years, about the agreements with some religions different from the Catholic one. The debates faced nowadays do not concern only problems of Church politics but involve every relevant moment of individual and social life, where the relationship between civil society and religious society can be discussed even in dramatic terms (immigration, bioethics, family, religions financing, schools, etc.). These themes have found an important echo even in case law, giving place to several solutions oriented in different ways, that this journal wishes to illustrate through comments and reviews, proposing itself as a useful instrument for the workers of this specific field.
