Lab-recycling. Isole ecologiche e centri di riuso

The experience of Lab-Recycling Degree Laboratory, organized in agreement with AMA, over the years has been increasingly structured to become a reference point for undergraduates of Sapienza School of Architecture. The topic under study is of strategic importance for the current development of the city and territory: the search for new architectural typologies dedicated to waste management, that from the field of urban hygiene extends towards the concept of Circular Economy. The teaching methods were largely based on contributions from professionals, fundamental to allow continuous comparison between the project ideas and the actual realization possibilities. All that, connected and enhanced with the enthusiasm of the students, contributed to the success of an innovative teaching experience based on the encounter between two different realities, University and Company, that, starting from opposite assumptions, have to converge towards the common objective of forming new professionals, in the spirit of the academy's "Third Mission", prepared to face the pressing issues concerning the new challenges of the environmental economy.
