One hundred and twenty works, 105 drawings and 15 sculptures, all of them made by Picasso between 1905 and 1967: works unknown to the public at large, housed at the Musée national Picasso in Paris and now, for the first time ever, collected in a precious catalogue that will accompany the major exhibition Picasso A Different Gaze to be held at LAC in Lugano from 18 March to 17 June 2018.

This catalogue is unprecedented among the catalogues dedicated to the Cubist master: Picasso's work is studied from a wholly new perspective, aimed at casting light on the area of his output that has in a certain way remained hidden, mysterious in terms of both its genesis and its meaning. The curatorship of the exhibition and the catalogue was entrusted to one of the foremost Picasso experts, Carmen Giménez, who can vouch for its accuracy and scientific soundness. In addition to Giménez's contribution and the excellent reproduction of all the works exhibited, the catalogue is enriched with numerous photographs of Picasso at work in his studios, and an essay by Francisco Calvo Serraller, an undisputed expert on 19th-20th-century Spanish art.
