..In this book I wish to sum up the results of one sector of my research: I present a collection of fringes in linen and cotton for handtowels and small cloths, all shown in a modern and up-to-date setting. It is a theme strongly tied to tradition, but which finds new vitality in the colour and the strong and robust threads of the renowned Tessitura Busatti of Anghiari.This manual is aimed primarily at those who are enthralled by macramé, who already have sufficient basic knowledge of the knots and their combinations and who wish to draw on new ideas. The first part will be dedicated to explaining the stitches: the drawings which summarize the principal movements, their names and a legend with the abbreviations which will be used later in the table of instructions.
