Josep Lluís Mateo is one of Spain's most influential architects nowadays. This volume brings together his recent projects, his influences and references in his work, interviews, and intense graphic material. Rather than proposing a practice of general, abstract, generic architecture, Occasions seeks to understand it and to describe it as the product of an intelligence and a specific sensibility. Occasions speaks of the experience and the action as a sum of encounters with things, persons and ideas. These pages follow some of their traces. Occasions, despite its fragmentation and specificity, is not an inward-looking autobiographical chronicle.
