This book, entirely dedicated to the solo guitar, brings together 10 works that were written over 18 years. The composer, a guitarist by training, distanced himself from the guitar for about 15 years intending to break away from musical ideas and approaches that contemplated the strong idiomatic aspect that the guitar has. Naturally, this physical distance from the instrument interspersed with several other works written for different formations, little by little, shaped the composer's view of the guitar and its history within the broad aesthetic arc of Western music. Marcus Siqueira currently lives in Italy and has been teaching Advanced Rhythmics at the Conservatorio di Musica Giovan Battista Martini in Bologna since 2017, and has been teaching guitar lessons at Scuola di Musica Gioachino Rossini in Cervia since 2018, when he finally returned to studying and teaching the guitar.
