Première traduction de l'allemand par Debeo et comportant une fort intéressante préface de Paul Sédir sur l'enseignement de Jacob Böhme et les liens doctrinaux qui peuvent s'établir entre sa démarche spirituelle et l'enseignement de diverses grandes figures du christianisme: Mélanchthon, Saint-Augustin, Jean Cassien, Calvin, Zwingli, plus particulièrement sur la notion "d'élection". Notons la formule de Sédir à propos de Jacob Boehme indiquant qu'il "s'exprime comme un physicien de l'invisible". Une note de Chacornac signale qu'il consulta une traduction de ce même texte tout à fait inconnue de la main de Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin.
