FEM Code program structure

A modern firm, either manufacturing industry or consulting engineering company, is expected to cope with the ever-growing competitiveness of today's global world-wide markets. In order to face adequately the international competition in terms of both quality and costs, a modern firm must constantly maximise its productive efficiency and be able to introduce innovations. This book explores the pillars that should be at the basis of any production process: Concurrent Engineering, according to which all the departments of a firm, from the design to the production department, must concur to the definition of a new product at the same time, and Design by Analysis, according to which the design of a new product must eventually optimise the use of materials with respect to safety abd cost. This book addresses people who are involved in the engineering science and want to learn about the mathematical origin of Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis governing virtual reality modelling and non-linear and time dependent behaviour of real solid materials via Computer Aided Technologies. The author has attempted to make the book self-contained and comprehensive enough to meet the needs of students as well as those of most practising engineers and scientists.
