Sur papier vergé, introduction et commentaires par J. Laplace. Après que furent rééditées toutes les versions connues, c'est-'à-dire celles de La Rochelle, de Manget, et la troisiéme de 1760(?), il convenait de proposer au public une édition du manuscrit polychrome conservé à la Bibliothèque du Congrès à Washington. Le Mutus Liber en couleur précise par la polychromie nombre de détails que le noir et blanc laissent au rang des hypothèses. Supporait-on que tels symbole se rattache au souffre par exemple, la couleur rouge le confirmera, ou la couleur bleue l'infirmera.
