The book explores research issues to wider debate and is aimed to contribute to more sensitive architecture and urban design. The book sets up heritage value and sensitive intervention within the Transforming City. Urban regeneration must be considered and integrated as a part of the existing while intelligent placement of new development can aim to create favorable and more active urban life. New development must reach an acceptable character and appearance that respond to flexibility and inevitable sustainable future change.
