Giovanna Lysy. Memorie di luce.

A renewed meeting with space and its meaning, aided by the projection of memory into the present, has produced the last phase of Giovanna Lysy's work, the subject of this volume. The temperature is warmer and more emotional, where the severity of the 21st century is tempered by a free, direct spirit, able to elaborate eloquent structures born from direct contact with the soil. Sculptures in which the most intimate genii loci of her past return in an effort to regain the most unplumbed depths of her being. Here the sculptures take life, seeking an active relationship with space, ready to take on an artisanal dimension close to design, without ever giving way to the limits imposed by the serial production of the industrial world.
