L'elogio della Bellezza. In Praise of Beauty. Capolavori dai musei italiani. Masterpieces from Italian Museums

On 3 December 1996, the Museo Civico Amedeo Lia opened to the public, making available to the community a private art heritage which had until then been difficult to consult. Alongside famous works from the art literature, some of which had provoked years of debate, were other unpublished or little-known ones, an even greater spur to research and study.
Twenty masterpieces from 20 prestigious Italian and foreign museums celebrate the 20 years which have passed since that date : paintings, sculptures, miniatures, art objects interact with works from the collection, in a rich dialogue of cross-references, affinities and contrasts. A homage to beauty, illustrated by famous artists such as Beato Angelico, Dosso Dossi, El Greco, Bernini, but also to the yearning for beauty, a constant in Amedeo Lia's far-sighted, enthusastic forays into the world of art.
