His research seeks to simplify forms and takes into consideration the internal relations between figures as well as their interaction with the surrounding space. It is interesting to follow the lines and surfaces of these shapes, to notice how they respond naturally to our eyes and thoughts. Thanks to the warm and embracing character of certain forms we feel involved in the work of the artist and empathize with it.
Alongside sculptures, the proposed selection includes examples of his painting and number of recent luminos methacrylate works that stand between sculpture and painting. It documents Giovanni Mason's production since the sixties, showing the evolution of his creativity over time, in all its different dimensions, including the monumental sculptures made for the anthological exhibition organized by the City of Cantù.
