Renata Lucas singled out for her work Matemática Rápida, presented in 2006 at the San Paolo Biennial, which consists of an intervention on the pavement of the Barra Funda neighborhood, where the artist created, through a subtle gesture, a second pavement, on which she put along the path of walking people, unexpected obstacles, coincidences and unforeseen pleasures. Through her installation, the artist highlights the deep transformations that property speculation brings to the traditional urban aspect of the barrio by distorting its original features.
This volume, published on the occasion of the prize awarding and conceived as an artist's book, presents Renata Lucas' work, completed by a conversation with Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev and by the images of her work.
