Annu Palakunnathu Matthew's whole research traverses the warp and woof of memories and recollections, along the ambiguous ridge of forgetfulness, oblivion, amnesia, distraction, inattention, obscurantism, taboos, and censorship. The result is the construction of layered installations-mise en scène that lend photography a past and a future, so as not to lose the stories nor their gaps and omissions, challenging the transience of ignored or misunderstood pages of history by using art as an amplifier of mutated, silenced, and unheard voices.

From "Memories" of India to "SHELTERED", the book outlines the artist's research path from 1996 to 2025.
