On the occasion of the complete and extraordinary reconstruction of the Vasari ceiling of Palazzo Corner Spinelli, Marsilio Arte publishes the book "Il capoloro veneziano di Giorgio Vasari. A Renaissance ceiling recomposed", which traces the intricate collectibles of the reconstruction and museum layout of the paintings by the famous painter and art historian Giorgio Vasari (Arezzo, 1511 - Florence, 1574). Commissioned in 1542 by Giovanni Corner, belonging to one of the most influential and noble families of Venice, the work consists of nine painted panels: the five main depictions of the Allegories of Virtues (Charity, Faith, Hope, Justice and Patience), while on the four smaller corner compartments, the artist paints Putti with tables. If already during the XVIII century the various parts of the decorative apparatus were removed from their original location and transferred elsewhere, in the XIX century a real diaspora begins in Italian and foreign collections. From the eighties of the 20th century, the components of the Corner ceiling were repurchased at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and the Venetian institutions, first of all the Gallerie dell'Accademia.

The small but precious volume, financed by Venetian Heritage, opens with the institutional premise of the director Giulio Manieri Elia, followed by the text of Valentina Marini Clarelli Nasi, president of the Fondazione Venetian Heritage Onlus, and Peter Marino, chairman of Venetian Heritage Inc.
