Cast it. ?A description of punchcutting and typefounding. Vol. 1

As the name of our publishing house suggests, writing, letterforms, and typefaces are all part of Lazy Dog's DNA and no better reason than this is needed for us to welcome CAST, Cooperativa Anonima Servizi Tipografici, with the first issue of Cast it, this annual publication that will discuss the history and culture of type together with CAST's digital fonts. Cast it #1 shows specimens of CAST's fonts used to set the article 'type-founder' in Griselini's Dizionario delle Arti e de' Mestieri. According to the printing historian James Clough in the foreword, this text is the earliest known description of punch-cutting and type-founding published in Italian.
