One of the main author of the experimental cinema in the world, Jonas Mekas, film-maker and American critic of Lithuanian origin, takes part in that cinema known as "underground" which, far from the official production and distribution of the Hollywood star system, has tried to keep a politic of independence alive, which gives subversive cinematographic works the chance to be seen and appreciated by the public.
Jonas Mekas, leading exponent of the cinematographic language's renewal and researcher of the artistic resources of the new electronic visual media, is now the protagonist of the exhibition cured by the Fondazione Ragghianti in collaboration with the Lucca Film Festival 2008. The catalogue offers a detailed run-down of the shown works.
