In his thirty years' career Gabriele Basilico has been able to impose his incisive documentary view in the worldwide overview of the architectural and landscape photography. Basilico explores architecture mostly representing urban scenes: panoramic shoots over the city alternate with shoots upon details. The Fondazione Ragghianti dedicates to Basilico this specially created show, where photographs of the most important steps of his production are collected: from the factories' portraits in Milan of early eighties to the works on Naples, Paris, New York, Beirut and Berlin.
Some photos of Lucca's urban and natural landscape, expressly made by Basilico for the occasion, are present in the show. Works by eight young photographers, proposed by Basilico, and invited to present their own researches are shown in the exhibition and published in catalogue.
The exhibition is presented in the catalogue by a Vittorio Fagone's essay and by texts by Gabriele Basilico and Francesco Zanot.
