Gabriele Cateni , to whose memory the day was devoted to studies of which this volume public Acts, liked to say it does not recognize in himself the image of a scholar , but to be especially interested in the dissemination of knowledge. This argument is precisely dedicated the volume here presented , the volume containing contributions from scholars and colleagues Cateni own thesis to analyze , on the basis of new data and hypotheses of the study, archaeological, topographical and historical area of Volterra ( from the closet to the establishment of the Lemon Casalvecchio , the structure of the necropolis to the arrangement of the Acropolis ), the Villanovan phase in the archaic , precisely at the moment when Volterra completes its process of urban formation and is also defined as the center hegemon of the region.
