Giuliana Traverso is not only an artist but a maestra, as well; she knows how to capture a part of each one; nothing passes by her unnoticed; each pupil is a tile enhancing the mosaic of her vast experience.
Giuliana Traverso lives and works in Genoa where in 1968 she created the first photography course in the wrold reserved to women, she opened another in Milan in 1979. She organized various workshops on the photographic language, in many cities and her activities as a teacher and photographer have been written up in newspapers worldwide, in the most important reviews, Italian and foreign, and in specialized sector publications. She has taken part in more than one-hundred group exhibitions travelling through Europe, America, Middle and Far East.
