Seven world-famous German artists present a site-specific exhibition of wall pieces at the Museion, a prestigious place for contemporary art in the city of Bolzano.
The conceptual starting point for this group exhibition is to be found in the classical technique of fresco painting, as an occasion for a contemporary approach. The concept of space here is not expressed through architecture but through painting-as the title suggests with ironic precision. In times marked by emergency, superficiality and mobility, it is hard to find places that allow artists face the challenge of painting inside a museum. Museion is willing to accept such challenge.
The artists: Ulla von Brandenburg, Katharina Grosse,Frank Nitsche, Gregor Schneider, Norbert Schwontkowski, Dirk Skreber, Matthias Weischer
