The Furla Art Award was born as an initiative promoted by the Fondazione Querini Stampalia of Venice and by Furla five years ago. Growing and consolidating itself with the passing of time, it has become one of the most prestigious and serious awards and, this year, it also has among its sup-porters- other than both historians-the Galleria d'Arte Moderna of Bologna and Arte Fiera 2005. The jury panel has chosen-among the thirty initial candidates-Alex Cecchetti, Rä di Martino, Christian Frosi, Pietro Roccasalva and Deborah Ligorio. The volume documents every step of the jury panel, the debates that have led to the selection of five finalists and the choice of the winner as well as files that include images and the curricula of all the artists who have participated in the award, thus becoming a useful instrument to promote the works created by young exponents of Italian art even among foreign operators.
