La Fura dels Baus is a transgressive theatrical company able to involve the audience in a physical and
sensorial way. Now boasting millions of spectators all over the world, the Catalan group debuted at
the end of the seventies and has produced a repertoire of great emotional impact.
This book records the extraordinary performance dedicated
to La Divina Commediastaged in Florence in an impossibly
crowded Piazza Pitti.
The show was produced and executed by Classico Italia,
a consortium of leading companies in clothing textiles, in
partnership with the Valencia Biennial, based on a project
by Luigi Settembrini.
With their particular means of artistic expression, La Fura
dels Baus grappled with the hallucination of man suspended
between heaven and earth, that mixture of natural and
supernatural, that divine and transcendent chaos represented
by Dante's Commedia, using their spectacular force
and ability to involve the audience that has made them
unique throughout the world.
