Empoli. I luoghi e i segni della storia. The places and the hidden gems of history

This publication aims at covering the lack of a guide through the urban, artistic and architectural heritage to be found in different contexts of our area: historical, anthropological, religious, civil and military. The major commitment has involved to select some subjects, considered to be more significant, and to pay less attention to or exclude some others. The layout of the work and the rigorousness of the texts allows to explore some aspects of our history and our roots, so reinforcing an identity that, in our modern times, tends to be levelled on a general homologation.The main purpose was to trace back the historical identity of a town that can boast a twenty-one centuries old history.
