This isn't a catalogue: the selection of the 70 places documented in the book was arbitrary. The places selected are part of the South Tyrol landscape. Not particularly significant in themselves, they may leave us indifferent. The idea is that as a whole they might become part of the province's cultural system. They are "low definition" environments and therefore open, they have to be set up and defined each time. They are adaptable spaces whose identity is given by their precise, occasional and temporary use and not by their pre-estabilished form. For an increasing number of events and shows there is no need for a prestige venue built in the traditional way. The creative space is often a carved out and non-finished niche. The purpose of this work is to offer spaces and environments, as free as possible from encumbrances and constrictions, where those active inthe art world or the creative production sector can express ideas, show their works, perform.
