Two 120-page volumes hardbound into a single book meant to be viewed side by side to accommodate diptychs, triptychs, and related sequences. Enclosed in a stunning removable paper board printed cover. Single page size 12" x 16". Drawing from work over the past seven years, William Greenfield's latest book features selections taken in the Americas and Europe. Over this time, he began recombining images, often using mistakes, and exploring the power of "damaged" negatives that had survived hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. This led to assemblage and from there to diptychs and triptychs. For well on three decades, William has persisted exploring and documenting the world around him using cheap, toy-like cameras and 110 film. His view transforms the ordinary to the other worldly, exposing beauty of light, nuance of color, surprises in form. By withholding titles and explanations, he leaves perception completely up to the viewer. What you think you see is not always the reality.
