Between 2003 and 2009, the discovery of a second basilica at a distance of just three kilometres (locality of Settecamini) during excavations conducted by the Archaeological Superintendence of Rome led the editors of the explorations to recognise this building as the true sanctuary of the martyr. By exploiting monumental and epigraphic data that emerged from the excavations of the new church and by re-examining the already known Setteville complex in the light of rediscovered photographic documentation concerning the archaeological investigations carried out at the end of the 1960s by the American archaeologist Richard Stapleford, the book proposes a coordinated reading of the findings and their interpretation.
