The Museum displays the historic masters of the 20th century, the ideal foundation and nucleus of the now vast permanent collection, offers a selection of works representing Giulio Bargellini's particular attitude to collecting. Since the last echoes of the late 19th century, passing through the first avant-garde and to the "return to order", from the intimate and emotional facets to the more experimental ones of the Second World War, the collection includes the work of several artists who had a leading role in the development of the visual culture of the 20th century.
The MAGI'900 Museum is not only figurative art, it is also life art and art in life. Combining creativity, curiosity, philanthropy and a desire to experiment, Bargellini always brought his many interests in the environment, solidarity, sport, and Africa, where he helped and supported children and artists.
