Delio Cantimori. Filosofia e storiografia

From youthful Fascism and Idealism to becoming Marxist and Communist towards the end of the Thirties; from a crisis of political and cultural certainties in the middle of the Fifties to the renewed study of Max Weber, Burckhardt and the great European historiography of the xixth and xxth centuries, this book reconstructs from within Delio Cantimori's path through life. His studies on Humanism and the Reformation, but also on contemporary German political thinking, on Jünger and Carl Schmitt are at the centre of the picture; there is, in particular, his great book an Italian heretics in the xvith century, to wich are ideally associated the one on the Utopians and social reformers of the xviiith century, his essays on Jacobinism and writings on the Italian Risorgimento.
