This book is published on the occasion of a solo exhibition of the Swiss artist Kaspar Toggenburger (St. Gallen, 1960), featuring a series of works produced in the last ten years.
Toggenburger's production is varied and it ranges from the most traditional paintings, drawings, etching and xylographies, to pictures, light installations and projections.
The most fascinating element of his research is the continuous dialogue between abstraction and concreteness, between flat surface and space, as well as his iconographic consistency which is expressed, above all, in a leitmotiv characterizing his works: the head.
The catalogue, with an introduction by Reinhard Spieler, includes critical essays by Alexander B. Eiling, an interview to the artist and biographical notes.
