Massimo Campigli. Catalogue Raisonné

This publication is the catalogue of the complete works of Massimo Campigli, born Max Ihlenfeldt (Berlin, 1895 - Saint-Tropez, 1971), who spent most of his life in Italy and was one of the representatives of Italian XX century painting.
Published in two volumes, this catalogue features all paintings, frescoes and drawings, that Campigli created during his whole life: more than 2700 works, presented in a chronological order, all certified as authentic works by the iconographic documents in the Archives of the Campigli Foundation.
Through this publication the reader can go through Campigli's whole artistic production; this artist - with his continuous search for symmetry, harmony and balance - has his own place in the XXth century artistic panorama.
His works, inspired by Etruscan art, by archaeology and by the female figure reveal a sense of purity and of inner peace, sometimes veiled by a moderate irony: all features emphasized by the painter's highly refined technique.
