Laurie Anderson. "Dal Vivo"

Fondazione Prada in association with Milan?s San Vittore prison, will present ?Dal Vivo?, the new project from American artist, Laurie Anderson, at 18.30 on Friday, June 12th 1998. This multimedia installation, curated by Laurie Anderson and Germano Celant, is a meditation on time and on the image concretized through the telematic transportation of the body of Santino Stefanini, a detainee with a 23 and a half year prison record, from the prison space to the Fondazione.
Thanks to the collaboration of San Vittore Prison, Laurie Anderson (Chicago, 1947) ? performance artist and singer - will meet Santino Stefanini (Milano, 1952) who is currently serving a thirty year prison sentence. Stefanini has accepted the role of protagonist in this event because he feels that each demonstration of prison reality to the external collective, even in the form of a virtual ?escape? contributes to improving the prison environment and making incarceration more bearable
