Emilio Vedova

Emilio Vedova has traveled and shown his works all over the world, and has taught both in Europe and America. Always convinced of the dialectical capacity of the experience of art, he has encouraged us to look inside ourselves, to listen to new sufferings and passions. Vedova has always embodied a fusion of political critique and artistic activity. He has never stopped working, protesting, prophesizing, challenging himself-even fiercely. His voice, powered by crystalline coherence, remains thunderous. Thanks to all this and more, nothing from his long career has been lost.
This book documents works made from the fifties to today, selected from those shown in the four exhibitions- starting with the first on Broadway in 1989-held by Salvatore and Caroline Ala in their legendary gallery active since the seventies. Once again, these works bear witness to the greatness of one of the absolute protagonists of international contemporary art.
