11th January 1476. Francesco Sassetti, servant and friend of Lorenzo de'Medici, buys a house with two holdings, lands to farm and woods in the village of San Leonardo di Casi, near Vaiano. The estate, already called Il Mulinaccio for the presence of ruins of an ancient mill, during the Middle Ages was property first of the Counts Cadolingi and then of the Counts Alberti. With the Sassetti family the history of the villa and the farmstead of Il Mulinaccio begins and develops over four centuries.
This full colour guide describes the history and the evolution of the villa and farmstead, particularly pointing on the estate of the villa in the 20th century. It presents the villa as a House of the Memory in the outline of Tuscan culture and as a fundamental stage of the route that starts from the great villas of the province of Prato.
