In June of 2000, Mauro Staccioli visited the town of Mogliano Veneto where the Laboratorio Internazionale for young sculptors was being held. Three groups of artists, from art schools in Salonika, Venice, and Munich, worked for days setting up the exhibition. At the same time, Staccioli, one of the leading figures in international contemporary sculpture, was invited to enter into a dialogue with his young colleagues and to hold a small one-man exhibition. With great enthusiasm the artist presented an emblematic overview of his work at the Brolo, a recently restored building in the town center. These sixty-two photographs by Roberta Orio are a diary of Staccioli's work, his thoughts, and his process. It's both an intimate diary and a public record of this event.
