Diary of a body 1969-1973

The life of a poet, writer, video-maker, body artist, designer of urban architecture. Vito Acconci (New York 1940) opens his personal archive and delivers a monumental work: the historical chart of his work from 1969 to 1973.
Almost two hundred performances, during which he meticulously annotated every act, every single instant, every modification and event, scrupulously mapping his whole creative process, step by step.
It is the Sixties, the years involving corporality, the years in which Acconci creates "..the space of the body...".
The artist illustrates his past to us by digging up a period loaded with expressive physical intensity, through the act and its description, through the notes and documents kept over the years and published here for the first time.
