Aspetti dell'opera di Felix Jacoby

This volume contains an organic series of contributions on the life and work of Felix Jacoby, the ancient world scholar that Arnaldo Momigliano judged to be the author of "the greatest philological work in this century in the Graeco-Roman field".
With these studies presented and discussed at the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, the series of "Seminari A. Momigliano" promoted by Carmine Ampolo began.
In the volume are to be found a biography of Felix Jacoby, not lacking in controversial aspects, his extraordinary activity in the field of ancient historiography in its widest meaning, which together with his association with ancient erudition obviously forms the central nucleus of the seminar, without neglecting his important studies on Hesiod and Homer, on the homage of Athens to its fallen and on the Latin elegy.
A reprint with update references of Jacoby's famous study on the development of Greek historiography (originally in 'Klio', IX, 1909) and a presentation of recent projects of collections of fragments complete the volume.
